Top Ten Tuesday: February 18th

This week's Top Ten Tuesday theme is reasons I love being a reader and a blogger.

1. Talking about books - The number one reason I love being a blogger is getting the chance to talk about books with people who are just as passionate as me! There are times when I try to talk to my friends and family but for some reason they just never seem to share my excitement quite as much, probably because we don't read the same books!

2. Getting the chance to work with so many authors and publishers - I've really enjoyed a lot of the interactions I've had with authors and publishers and I'm so happy my blog has given me the chance to talk with these people! There are so many wonderful people in the bookish world and I'm so glad I've gotten to meet them.

3. Having thee chance to read so many amazing books - I've always loved reading and having this blog has given me the chance to read so many fantastic books that I would have never had the chance to read otherwise.

4. Experiences - One of the best things about loving to read is how many different experiences I can have through books. Reading a book is like having the chance to explore a whole different point of view or part of the world and I just love that.

5. Buying Books - The thing I love most in life is buying books. I love the way they smell and the way they feel and just everything about it... maybe I'm crazy but there's nothing I love more than getting new (or at least new to me) books!

6. The Way They Look - Maybe I'm crazy again but I just love the way books look. I love arranging them and looking at them and decorating with them, honestly I just really love them.

7. Free stuff! - I would be lying if I said I didn't love all the free books I get in exchange for reviews. I remember saying to myself years ago, "I wish I had a blog so I could get free books like all these other people," and now here I am!

8. Making friends - I met my best friend in eighth grade because we had a huge discussion about how Harry and Hermione totally needed to end up together. Now here we are five years later and still the best of friends.

9. Recommending books - I love recommending books to my friends and now I get to do it on a larger scale! Blogging is definitely the best.

10. New Releases - Nothing compares to the excitement of getting my pre-ordered new releases in the mail. Trust me, I will be on the floor when The Retribution of Mara Dyer comes!

Top Ten Tuesday: January 21st

This week's Top Ten Tuesday is a tricky one! This week the theme is top ten things on my reading wishlist, weather is topics I want authors to write about or characters and plot devices. I don't think I'll be able to get 10 but I'll do my best!

1. Mental illness/abnormal psychology - One of the things that never fails to fascinate me is abnormal psychology. I love reading about characters going through mental illnesses and learning more about the psychology behind it.

2. Romance with substance - If there is one thing I can't stand it's romance that has no spark. I love being able to feel butterflies in my stomach right along with the characters!

3. Characters my age - One of the things I love most about the New Adult genre is that they characters are my age! I feel like there's a huge gap in ages between the YA and Adult genres and New Adult fits in there perfectly.

4. Steampunk - Maybe I'm not looking in the right places but it seems that good steampunk novels are few and far between. Either I need to start finding more or authors need to start writing more!

5. Celtic history - I love historical novels set in Ireland/Scotland and I feel like the  good ones are few and far between.

6. Greek Mythology - Mythology of any kind is always top on my reading list but I especially love the Greek myths. Any book based on the Greek Myths is always on my reading list!

Top Ten Tuesday: January 7th

This weeks Top Ten Tuesday theme focuses on my New Years resolutions, since I don't think I have 10 bookish themed ones I'm going to do 5 bookish ones and 5 regular ones. To find out more about Top Ten Tuesday take a look at the Broke and Bookish!

Bookish resolutions:

1. Read more! - My number one goal for this year is to read more. Especially toward the end of this year I really started to fall off on my reading schedule. Since I work almost full time and am enrolled in college full time its hard to keep up, but I'm determined this year!

2. Post more often!- This one goes hand and hand with my goal to read more. I try to post at least 4 times a week but with how busy I am sometimes I have to take a week off or end up posting only a 2 or 3 times a week. I am determined to post at least 4 times a week, I may not be there right now, but by the end of the year I hope I will be!

3. Read at least one classic - I don't tend to read the most intellectual of novels, and I like that, but at the same time sometimes I feel like I should be reading something a little more on the smart side.

4. Read 125 books - I didn't make my goal last year but I'm determined to do it this year! Hopefully I'm a little more productive and actually get things done, that way I have more time to read!

5. Finish requested reviews faster - I can't even begin to thank all the people who send me books to read, however it always takes me FOREVER to get my review up. Thanks to everyone who has been so patient with me but I'm going to do my best to do better this year!

Other Resolutions:

1. Eat less sugar - I have the biggest sweet tooth in the world, whenever I make coffee I have people ask me "Would you like some coffee with that sugar?" Its a real problem and  since I'm going to Florida in March for vacation I want to be as fit and healthy as I can!

2. Be more social - I have a tendency to want to stay home and read instead of spending time with friends. This year I really want to spend more time with my friends instead of spending all my days off holed up at home reading (though some of the best days are spent like that).

3. Get things done- For me procrastination is my biggest flaw. I always get things done but I always wait until the last moment and then stress myself out. This year I really want to get ahead on not only my blogging but on school work as well.

4. Get homework done - This goes hand in hand with the last one. Being enrolled in college full time, working almost full time, and running this blog takes a lot of time and homework always seems to come last in my list of priorities. I'm hoping that I can be more organized this year and give myself more time to get things done without stressing.

5. Take a vacation - I'm so excited because this one is actually happening (I've got my plane tickets and everything!) I don't tend to go on very many vacations but I'm going to be going to Florida in March and I'm so excited I can barely take it!

Leave a comment letting me know what your New Year's Resolutions are (bookish or not!)

Top Ten Tuesday: December 31st

This week's Top Ten Tuesday theme is my favorite books of 2013! I read so many great ones it's going to be hard to pick. Make sure to check out the Broke and Bookish to find out more about Top Ten Tuesday!

1. Ashes on the Waves by Mary Lindsey - Hands down one of the best books I read in 2013! With romance, Celtic lore, and a haunting story line this was most definitely a keeper.

2. Frost Bite by Patricia Briggs - I'm a huge, huge, huge fan of Patricia Briggs and Frost Bite was one of my favorites in the series. I loved being able to read from Adam's point of view and I always adore the romance between Adam and Mercy.

3. Origin by Jennifer L. Armentrout - Origin was no doubt the best book in the Lux series thus far. The romance was perfect and the alternating perspectives made this one absolutely fantastic!

4. One More Bite by Jennifer Rardin - I never thought I would love this series as much as I do! The sexual tension between Jaz and Vayl is killer and thats what makes the series so good.

5. Asunder by Jodi Meadows - Even though Incarnate was marginally better Asunder was a great sequel! With the next book in the trilogy coming out shortly I can't wait to go back and read the first two again!

6. Scarlet by Marissa Meyer - Cinder was a good novel but Scarlet was an amazing one. I loved the new characters and the world Meyer has created never fails to intrigue me.

7. Ten Tiny Breaths by K. A. Tucker - The only contemporary book that made it on my list, Ten Tiny Breaths was hands down one of the best New Adult books I've ever read and it sparked my love of the New Adult genre.

8. Iron Kissed by Patricia Briggs - My favorite book in the Mercy Thompson series I know I didn't read it for the first time in 2013 but I think I loved it even more on the re-read.

9. The Girl with the Iron Touch by Kady Cross - Hands down the best book in the series so far I was thrilled to see Finley and Griffin finally get together and have the story with Jack Dandy taken care of.

10. Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder - Like Iron Kissed, I know I didn't read this book for the first time in 2013 but I loved this one the second time around as well. One of the best fantasy novels out there I can't wait to get back to my re-read of the series.. it's just a matter of finding the time!

Top Ten Tuesday: December 17th

Because I had a post already planned for yesterday Top Ten Tuesday is going to be a day late this week. This Wednesday I'm going to be listing my top ten new to me authors that I discovered in 2013! Since I did a ton of re-reading this year I have a feeling this one might fall a little short. On a side note, don't forget to check out the creators of Top Ten Tuesday; The Broke and Bookish!

1. Jennifer Rardin - I can't believe I ended up liking the Jaz Parks series as much as I do! One of the best urban fantasy series out there I have the sixth book on my Kindle and you have no idea how excited I am to get to it.

2. Larissa Ione - Apparently the book I read by her 'wasn't her best' according to all the reviews I read so her other books must be amazing! I'm so excited to read more books by her!

3. Jennifer L. Armentrout - I wasn't sure about the Lux seires when I first started it but it turned out to be one of the best series I started in 2013... the last book was amazing and I'm eager to see where it all goes!

4. K. A. Tucker - If there is one genre I am in love with it is New Adult. Tucker is one of my favorite NA authors and I just can't get enough of her books even though they aren't what I typically read.

5. Suzanne Young - Even though I read a lot of critical reviews about The Program I still think it was an amazing book. I can't wait for the sequel to come out!

6. Mary Lindsey - Last, but not least, Ashes on the Waves was no doubt my favorite book of 2013. I'ts been a month or two now and I'm still obsessing over how great it was, if you haven't read that book yet trust me, you need to.
Leave a comment letting me know what new authors you discovered in 2013!

Top Ten Tuesday: December 10th

Top Ten Tuesday was created by the Broke and Bookish because honestly, who doesn't love lists! This week's theme is the top ten books on my winter reading list!

1. Parasite by Mira Grant - Since I love Seanan McGuire I'm absolutely thrilled to read this book by her! I love dystopian novels and I can't wait to see how McGuire, or Grant, handles it!

2. The Lonely by Tara Brown - When I read the description on Netgalley I knew I had to read this one! I've had it on my Kindle for weeks now and I'm so excited to get around to it!

3. The Curse Keepers by Denise Grover Swank - Same as the one above I got this one from Netgalley ages ago and I need to get around to it! I've heard great things about Swank and I can't wait to finally read a book by her.

4. Four Seconds to Lose by K. A. Tucker - I'm super excited to read this one in the Ten Tiny Breath's series! I have a feeling this one is going to be better than the second one; I have a feeling Cain has interesting story and I can't wait to read it.

5. Skin Walker by Faith Hunter - I've had this book on my Kindle forever and I have a feeling it's going to be a good one.

6. Stray by Rachel Vincent - I've been meaning to get around to this book for years and I think the time is coming! Can't wait!

8. Tempting Danger by Eileen Wilks - My best friend thinks this series is absolutely fantastic, and she's always right, so this is one of the number one books on my reading list!

9. Magic Study by Maria V. Snyder - My re-read of this series has gone on a bit of a hiatus (oh no!) but I'm determined to get back to it!

10. Hell Fire by Ann Aguirre - I've been meaning to get to this book for so long I can hardly remember what happened in the first! I remember liking the first one though so this one should turn out to be good.

Leave me a comment letting me know what books you're excited to read this winter!

Top Ten Tuesday: December 3rd

This week for Top Ten Tuesday the theme is books I can't wait for in 2014! There are so many I'm excited about that I have a feeling narrowing it down to ten is going to be hard! Don't forget to take a look at The Broke and Bookish, the makers of Top Ten Tuesday.

1. The Retribution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin - I am so excited for this book it's not even funny. I think I'm going insane waiting for it! Time will not go fast enough!

2. Mercy Thompson #8: Night Broken by Patricia Briggs - If there is one series I am completely in love with it's the Mercy Thompson series! I just can't get enough of Mercy and Adam and this sounds like it's going to be a good one!

3. Bloodlines #5: Silver Shadows by Richelle Mead - OH MY GOSH! After how the last one ended I am completely desperate for this one! Why do books have to come out so far apart!

4. Newsoul #3: Infinite by Jodi Meadows - Ahh I just love this series! Sam and Ana are so adorable and after all the revelations in the last novel I'm so eager to find out how it all ends!

5. Lux #5: Opposition by Jennifer L. Armentrout - The last book in this series was absolutely amazing, the romance was out of this world and I'm hoping that this one will be just as good!

6. The Lunar Chronicles #3: Cress by Marissa Meyer - Each book in this series keeps getting better and better!

7. October Daye #8: Winter Long by Seanan McGuire - Even though the last book wasn't as fantastic as previous ones I have a feeling that the 7th book was set up to bigger and better things, this one promises to be amazing!

8. Evertrue by Brodi Ashton - It seems like the second one came out so long ago! I can't wait to see how this trilogy turns out!

9. Curtsies & Conspiracies by Gail Carriger - This series is so cute and fun I can't help but love it! Carriger is a master at creating steampunk worlds!

10. The Treatment by Suzanne Young - After how the first novel ended I'm absolutely desperate to find out what happens in this one!

Leave a comment letting me know what books you're looking forward to in 2014!

Top Ten Tuesday: November 26th

This week my Top Ten Tuesday list is going to focus on things that I'm thankful for! Even though I could do anything I think I'm going to stick to bookish things only. Don't forget to take a look at the Broke and Bookish website to learn more about Top Ten Tuesday!

1. Goodreads - You have no idea how much time I spend on this website. Adding books that look good, rating books I've already read, I'm seriously a girl obsessed. (I'm on here more than I'm on Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr combined...)

2. Amazon - I really love Amazon. From browsing through the free books and pre-ordering books that I NEED to have Amazon has it all. Plus my wishlist is only about 50 books long..

3. Kindle - If there is one purchase I will never regret it's my Kindle, I absolutely adore reading on here and it's so nice to have all my books in one place!

4. Library - I would be totally lost without my local library. I'm in there every week checking out a whole stack of books, plus it's free, nothing can beat that.

5. E-library - Quite possibly even better than the local library is the E-library! I don't even have to leave my house to check out books now! Granted the selection is limited and since the E-library is for the whole state the wait lists are pretty long but I still love it!

6. My best friend - She seriously recommends the best books in the world for me to read. Half the reason I love half the series I do is because of her!

7. Netgalley - AMAZING website. I've read so many amazing books from here it's not even funny.

8. My blog - I started this blog for fun one summer when I was bored and I'm blow away by how much it's taken off. I never expected to have 10 followers much less over 1,000!

9. Authors - The true source behind my blog is all the fantastic authors out there. Without them I wouldn't have a blog or have amazing books to read, so I really have them to thank for everything.

10. My followers - There really aren't even words to explain how thankful I am for all my followers. It means so much to me that anyone would find my blog worth following.. thank you so much!

Let me know in the comments what Top Ten bookish things you're thankful for!

Top Ten Tuesday: November 5th

This week's Top Ten Tuesday theme is sequels I can't wait to get my hands on! There are so many I think sticking to ten is going to be hard! If you want to start doing your own Top Ten Tuesday check out the Broke and Bookish to find out how!

1. The Retribution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin - We all knew this would be on the top of my list. The day this book comes out will be the day I get no sleep.

2. The Firey Heart - I'm sure everyone saw this one coming too... we all know that Adrian is basically my fictional boyfriend. FIFTEEN DAYS EVERYBODY!

3. Night Broken by Patricia Briggs - I feel like I'm being way predictable, since anyone who knows me knows I'm obsessed with The Mercy Thompson series, but I just LOVE this series! My feels are getting a little out of control.

4. The Winter Long by Seanan McGuire - My god, I don't know if I can handle the rest of this list, I'm getting all excited. I have no idea where I would be without Tybalt...

5. Infinite by Jodi Meadows - Another series I'm so in love with I can hardly bear it. Sam and Ana are the cutest thing in the world and I'm sure I'm going to shed tears over their cuteness in this one!

6. Cress by Marissa Meyer - The books in this series just keep getting better and better so I can't wait to see how this one turns out!

7. The Treatment by Suzanne Young - I feel like I'm getting a little out of predictable territory with this one

8. Opposition by Jennifer L. Armentrout - The last Lux book was perfect, seriously one of the best books I'd ever read, and this one is going to top it. I just know it.

9. Evertrue by Brodi Ashton - I've been following this series for quite awhile now and I can't wait for the final book in the trilogy to finally come out! I have to know how it all ends!

10. Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi - After the last book I found myself torn between Warner and Adam and now I'm not sure which side I'm on.. which I'm sure will make this book all the better!

Leave a comment telling me the top ten sequels you cant wait to get your hands on!

Top Ten Tuesday: October 15th

This week's Top Ten Tuesday features books that I was forced to read, whether it was in school or just by friends who never shut up about a certain book! I know I could go on for ages about all the terrible books I was forced to read in school so I'm going to focus on books I actually liked instead!

1. The October Dayes series by Seanan McGuire- My best friend would not shut up about this series so I finally had to go see what all the fuss was about... now I'm completely addicted. Now one of my favorite series of all time I can definitely understand why she wouldn't stop raving about them!

2. 1984 by George Orwell - I ended up liking this book much more than I thought I would when I had to read it for Junior year English class. Its never going to be one of my favorite books but it was interesting enough that I didn't die of boredom... which I did during every other book I had to read in that class.

3. The Iron Knight by Julie Kagawa - I also had a few friends who would not stop talking about this series! Even though I didn't like it all that much the first time I read it I ended up loving it when I re-read it! (Funny how stuff like that works..)

4. Cinder by Marissa Meyer - The same friend who would not shut up about the October Daye series also would not shut up about this series, so of course I had to read it... and now I can't stop!

5. Othello by William Shakespeare - The only bearable novel I read in Sophomore year English this novel really clicked with me. Instead of making up reasons for my analysis I found myself really understanding what was going on and what everything meant.

6. Dark Lover by J R Ward - I'd heard about this novel from so many bloggers and reviewers that I knew, that as a HUGE fan of paranormal romance, I couldn't NOT read this book. It ended up being okay, but maybe I was just expecting too much because of everything I heard.

7. Soulless by Gail Carriger - Another series recommended to me by the same friend again (at this point I just always trust her suggestions), and I ended up really enjoying the series! A lot more than I thought I would honestly.

8. Little Women by Lousia May Alcott - One of my mom's favorite novels as a kid she always pressured me to read it and when I did was surprised by how much I liked it! Again not one of my favorites, but one that I liked more than I expected to!

9. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen - Another book for school that turned out to be bearable! I read this one for an out of class book report assignment and ended up doing great on the paper, probably because I actually read the whole thing!

10. The Witch of Blackbird Pond by Elizabeth George Speare - Another of my mom's favorite books as a child and one of mine as well. This novel really sparked my interest in Witch Trials and what the world was like at the time. To this day I still find it a fascinating time in history, all thanks to this book!

Leave a comment letting me know your Top Ten novels that you were forced to read!

Top Ten Tuesday: October 1st

This weeks Top Ten Tuesday theme focuses on book turn offs, I remember doing one really similar to this one earlier so I'll try not to repeat any from last time! Visit the Broke and Bookish for more Top Ten Tuesday themes!

1. No Action - If there is one thing I just can't stand, it's novels where nothing happens. Or to be more accurate, I guess it would be novels where I'm not interested in what is happening.

2. Unrelated Events - I absolutely cannot stand novels that have random events thrown in that have no merit to the plot. Some smaller events add depth to the characters but when there are too many unrelated events it takes away from the point of the novel.

3. Instant Love - I've said it before and I've said it again, I HATE when characters take one look at each other and are in love.

4. Characters who have already died - Stories about the afterlife have just never interested me. No matter how interesting a book sounds I'm likely to skip it if the characters have died.

5. Middlegrade - I don't like characters significantly younger than me because I just can't relate to them. Even though it wasn't that long ago since I was 12 or 13 I just can't stand reading about tween drama.

6. Religion - I think I mentioned this one before but it's one of my biggest turn offs. It's not that I'm against religion but I just can't stand being preached at through a novel.

7. Over the top descriptions - Sometimes descriptions can get a little annoying when they're overused. I like to know what's happening but when I'm reading about a character going to the bathroom it's a little over the top.

8. Rich Characters - If there is one thing I can't stand it's reading about shopping trips done by rich characters... it makes me a little jealous.

9. Characters under the age of 17 - This one goes hand in hand with my dislike of middlegrade. I just can't relate to characters so much younger than me.

10. Short stories- These always annoy me but more often than not I find myself reading them. There are a few good ones but there just isn't enough time for development.

Let me know what your biggest book turn offs are in the comments below!

Top Ten Tuesday: September 24th

This weeks Top Ten Tuesday theme is the best sequels out there, instead of choosing books that part of a series I'm going to try to stick to series with only three books or less! If you want to learn more about doing your own Top Ten Tuesday check out the Broke and Bookish!

1. Everbound by Brodi Ashton - With a fantastic cliff hanger ending this novel goes head to head with Everneath, they're both so wonderful its hard to pick which one I like more!

2. Enna Burning by Shannon Hale - I absolutely adored the Goose Girl when I first read it and I adored Enna Burning even more! One of my favorite books from my middle school years.

3. The Evolution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin - Heart-wrenching and emotional The Evolution of Mara Dyer is one of the most

4. Dark Triumph by Robin LaFevers - I would say this one was about equal to Grave Mercy but I loved both of these novels, nothing's better than killer nuns!

5. Scarlet by Marissa Meyer - Cinder was fantastic but Scarlet was even better! I absolutely adored Scarlet and Wolf and I have a feeling the next book will be even better!

6. The Girl with the Iron Touch by Kady Cross - The romance really picks up with this novel and I absolutely adored the pairings between all the characters and I can't wait to see where it all goes!

7. Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi - In the first novel I was rooting for Adam all the way but in this novel I found myself torn between Adam and Warner, even though I'm not a fan of love triangles I can't wait to see how this turns out!

8. Sever by Lauren DeStefano - A fantastic conclusion to the series I was a little saddened by the ending but at the same time it all worked out really well, so I don't know what to think.

9. Asunder by Jodi Meadows - Sam and Ana are one of my favorite fictional couples of all time and so many secrets are revealed in this novel that in a way its almost better than Incarnate, but I would have to say they are pretty equally matched.

10. Supernaturally by Kiersten White - This series is so adorable it's impossible not to love it, Evie is a little ditzy but thats just a part of her charm!

Top Ten Tuesday: September 17th

This week's Top Ten Tuesday focuses on novels that are on the very top of my TBR list for Fall 2013! There are so many fantastic novels coming out/books I just plain want to read that it was hard to narrow it down to only ten! Check out the Broke and Bookish for more about Top Ten Tuesday!

1. Chimes at Midnight by Seanan McGuire - I'm actually currently reading this one and it's just as amazing as I thought it would be! Everyone knows that I absolutely adore Tybalt and there is plenty of him in this one!

2. The Fiery Heart by Richelle Mead - Bloodlines is one of my favorite series ever and I am absolutely DYING for this novel! Especially after finding out it was in duel perspectives and reading one  of Adrian's chapters online!

3. The Iron Traitor by Julie Kagawa - Another long time favorite series of mine I can't wait to read this one!

4. Bound by Night by Larissa Ione - I've never read anything by Larissa Ione but I've heard great things about her and I'm excited to finally read a  book by her!

5. The Chaos of Stars by Kiersten White - I really enjoyed the Paranormalcy series so I can't wait to read another novel by the same author.

6. Until it Hurts to Stop by Jennifer R. Hubbard - I always have a soft spot for characters who are bullied and this series just sounds like one that would really appeal to me, I can't wait to get my hands on it and see if it lives up to my expectations!

7. Divergent by Veronica Roth - This series has so much hype surrounding it that I know I have to finally break down and read it!

8. Iced by Karen Marie Morning - Like Larissa Ione I've also heard a lot about Karen Marie Morning and I can't wait to finally try a novel by her, I have a feeling I'll really like this one!

9. Significance by Shelly Crane - This novel was one of the main reasons I wanted a Kindle so much and now that I have a Kindle I still haven't read it! I'm determined to read it as soon as possible!

10. Magic Study by Maria V. Snyder - I've actually read this series before and I'm currently re-reading it, the first one was even more amazing than I remembered and I can't wait to see if this one is the same!

Top Ten Tuesday: September 10th

This weeks theme for Top Ten Tuesday is books I would love to see made into movies (in a perfect world where they don't get ruined that is!) I'm not really one for movies so I have a feeling this one will be a little tough for me...if you want to learn more about doing your own Top Ten Tuesday check out The Broke and Bookish!

1. The Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs - I know I put this series on almost all of my Top Ten Tuesday lists but I just know that it would make a wonderful movie! I don't think there is any actor who would do Adam justice though...

2. The Naming by Alison Croggon - High fantasy always seems to translate well to the big screen and I have a feeling that The Naming would be one of those movies with heart pounding action scenes and a perfectly epic soundtrack to go along with it.

3. Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers - I always love historical movies and what's better than a historical novel about none other than assassin nuns?

4. Delirium by Lauren Oliver - Forbidden love and plenty of action I know that this one would make an exciting movie!

5. The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin - Since it's my favorite book I know that no movie would ever do it justice, no matter how perfect the world, but I would still love to see this one as a movie!

6. Fairest by Gail Carson Levine - I've always liked Fairest more than Ella Enchanted and I have a feeling this book would make an adorable movie.

7. Sabriel by Garth Nix - Like The Naming I have a feeling Sabriel would be one of those movies with pulse pounding action and a super amazing soundtrack to go with it!

8. Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder - The intrigue and suspense would make this one another awesome movie! But then the book was so amazing that it would be impossible to top that!

9. A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness - Even though the second one was a little slow the first one had more than enough action and romance to make it a fantastic read and likely an epic movie!

10. Incarnate by Jodi Meadows - Sam and Ana are just so cute I don't know how their relationship would transfer to the big screen but if it was done right I know this book would make a great movie!

Top Ten Tuesday: August 27th

This weeks Top Ten Tuesday theme is most memeorable secondary characters. To find out more about Top Ten Tuesday visit the Broke and Bookish!

1. Jesse Hauptman from The Mercy Thompson series - I love every character from this series but if there is one that just really stands out to me it's Jesse. She's so funny and quirky that I can't help but love her a little more with every book.

2. Magnus Bane from The Mortal Instruments - Magnus is pretty much what every warlock needs to be. He's sassy, he's a bad ass, and he's gay. Besides there is nothing cuter than Alex's and Magnus's relationship.

3. Sylvester from The October Dayes series - If I ever wanted someone to be a ruler it would be Sylvester, he's a facinating character (like most of the characters from this series) and I can't wait to see more of him in upcoming novels.

4. Soap from Etiquette and Espionage - A sootie and Sophronia's partner in crime Soap was one of my favorite secondary charcters from the novel. Plus he and Sophronia would be adorable together.

5. Myrnin from The Morganville Vampires series - A little bit genius and mostly crazy I love reading about Myrnin because you never know what he's going to do next!

6. Tybalt from the October Dayes series - Even though he becomes more of a main character as the series goes on Tybalt is one of my all time favorite love interests/secondary characters. McGuire has perfectly captured the attitude of a cat and given it to Tybalt, making me love him all the more.

7. Michael Glass from The Morganville Vampires - I love the brother/sister relationship between Claire and Michael. Caine is such an expert at character relationships that you can tell that they love each other but it isn't weird or like a love triangle.

8. Portia from the Lady Julia Gray series - Even though these novels are set in the 1800's I just love the accepting attitude Portia's family has about her relationship with Jane. I love the message that Rayborn is subtly sending and I wholeheartedly agree.

9. Bergman from the Jaz Parks  series - I absolutely love Bergman and his inventions. Even though he can be a little annoying he's always humorous and never fails to make me laugh.

10. Giguhl from the Sabina Kane series - Even though this series never stood out to me Giguhl did. Absolutely hilarious I loved his attitude and his character was the one redeeming quality to the otherwise mediocre series.

Top Ten Tuesday: August 20th

ttt

This week's Top Ten Tuesday is dedicated to things that make my life as a reader and book blogger a little bit easier! If you want to start doing your own Top Ten Tuesday

1. Kindle - I would be totally lost without my Kindle! I tend to read the majority of my books on here and it makes it much easier to accept review requests since I can have the book instantly!

2. NetGalley - If you are a book blogger and don't use NetGalley I would highly recommend checking it out! Free copies of titles before their released is always a good thing!

3. Goodreads - I can't even begin to explain how often I use Goodreads on a daily basis! My favorite website by far!

4. My local library offering digital titles for check out - My local library has recently started loaning digital titles and I love it! Because of school and work I never have time to make my way down to the library, now I don't have to!

5. Library bookstore - The few times I do make it to the library I always stop in the library bookstore, I've gotten hardbacks there for only a dollar!

6. Amazon - Am I the only one who loves going through the free books on Amazon?

7. Scheduled posting - I love being able to schedule posts! Since I'm not often home during the day it's so nice to be able to have a post go up at a certain time without posting it myself!

8. Reading other blogs - Reading on other blogs always inspires me for my own, so I always loving finding new blogs to enjoy.

9. The Library- Even though I don't go there as often as I want I love checking out books! Being the broke college student that I am it's nice to not have to buy every book I want to read.

10. Used bookstores - Since there isn't a new book store in my town if I do want to buy a book I always check  the local used bookstores first. I love finding cheap used books!

Top Ten Tuesday: July 30th

This weeks Top Ten Tuesday theme is books with the best beginnings/endings. I have so many books that I love that I have a feeling that this one is going to be nearly impossible to keep down to just ten! If you want to start doing your own Top Ten Tuesday check out the Broke and Bookish.

Best Beginnings

1. The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michlle Hodkin - "My name is not Mara Dyer, but my lawyer told me I had to choose something. A pseudonym. A nom de plume, for all of us studying for the SATS. "

2. The City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau - "In the city of Ember the sky was always dark. The only light came from great flood lamps mounted on the buildings and at the tops of poles in the middle of the larger squares."

3. Delirium by Lauren Oliver - "It has been sixty- four years since the president of the and the Consortium identified love as a disease , and forty-three since the scientists perfected a cure. "

4. The Golden Lily by Richelle Mead - "Most people would find being led into an underground bunker in the middle of the night scary. Not me."

5. Sold by Patricia McCormick - "One more rainy season and our roof will be gone, says Ama."

Best Endings

1. The Sweet Far Thing by Libba Bray - "Instead I try to adjust to the dawn, letting the tears fall where they may, because it is morning; it is morning, and there is so much to see."

2. Wake by Lisa McMann - "And they are off, through the link of fingers. Watching themselves, together. Catching his dreams."

3. A Certain Slant of Light by Laura Whitcomb - "And when we kissed, the garden rocked, floating upstream."

4. A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray- "I'm running because I can, because I must. Because I want to see how far I can go before I have to stop."

5. Inkheart by Cornelia Funke- "And where better could she learn that trade than in a house full of magical creatures, where fairies built their nests in the garden and books whispered on the shelves by night? As Mo had said: writing stories is a kind of magic, too."

Leave a comment telling me your favorite beginnings and endings!

Top Ten Tuesday: July 23rd

This week's Top Ten Tuesday is about topics that make me not want to pick up a book! To find out how to do Top Ten Tuesday check out the Broke and Bookish!

1. Love Triangles - This is the one I hate the most and the one that I usually end up reading anyway. I never like love triangles but I try not to let them scare me off of a book that I might end up loving, besides they're so common it's nearly impossible to get away from them!

2.Christian Fiction/Religious - I have nothing against religion but if I wanted to be preached at I would go to church. So often with Christian fiction I feel like the author's main focus is trying to get their message across instead of telling a story.

3. No Romance - I love romance novels and if a book doesn't have a hint of romance I'm not likely to pick it up (sad but true).

4. Main characters who have children - I love kids, I'm even going to school for early childhood education, but being as young as I am I have a hard time relating to characters who already have children.

5. Super Young Characters - Just like with the above I have a hard time relating to characters much younger than me, I've already been there done that but I just can't make myself interested in a fifteen year old girls drama.

6. Pop Culture References - If there is one thing I HATE it is the name Justin Bieber in any sort of writing that is meant to be taken seriously.

7. Famous Main Characters - Similar to the above I can't stand books that center on famous main characters. I just can't take them and their problems seriously, plus most of the time their problems center around not having the guy they want or the latest Gucci handbag.

8. Non-Fiction - Maybe I'm just not reading the right stuff but even when I try to read non fiction on something I think I'm interested in I fall asleep.

9. Free Verse - I have read some really good books that are in verse but it's not one of the things I'm particularly fond of. Every once and awhile I feel like it but for the most part I try to avoid books written in verse.

10. Classics - Classics fall somewhere in the middle for me. I have read some that I really enjoyed (Pride and Prejudice!) but most of them I've really hated (sorry to anyone who is in love with All Quiet on the Western Front). Everyone once and awhile I feel like reading something that doesn't involve a shirtless man on the cover but that's not very often.

Top Ten Tuesday: July 9th

This weeks theme for Top Ten Tuesday is the best/worst movie adaptions. Since I don't really watch movies (especially ones based off books) this is going to be a hard one for me... I have a feeling this will be a top 2 or 3 Tuesday instead of the full ten! If you want to take part in Top Ten Tuesday check out The Broke and Bookish.

1. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares - I wasn't a huge fan of the book and I don't remember being a huge fan of the movie either. Both the book and the movie rank pretty similarly to me, but in the end the book is always a little bit better.

2. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins -Like the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants I was never a huge fan of this novel. Even though The Hunger Games was never my favorite book but I thought the movie did a pretty good job despite it all.

3. The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot - Probably my favorite movie based off of a book. I watched the Princess Diaries a million times growing up and to this day I still go back and relive my childhood by watching this movie, and its fantastic every single time.

4. Twilight by Stephenie Meyer - The worst movie adaptation of the bunch, terrible acting and even worse dialogue (and actors, and everything else) this movie has always been awful. The more of these movies I see the worse they seem to get.

Sorry about the short list this week! Leave a comment telling me your favorite and least favorite movie adaptions!

Top Ten Tuesday: July 2nd

This week's Top Ten Tuesday is all about books that I find intimidating. Whether it's based on length or the fear that I won't love it as much as the first these are the top ten books I'm most intimidated to read! If you want to find out how to do your own Top Ten Tuesday check out The Broke and Bookish to find out how!

1. Easy by Tammara Webber - Maybe it's just because I'm cheap and don't want to pay $5.99 for a book I'm not sure I'm going to like but I keep going back and forth on my decision to read this one. I've heard such wonderful things about it but realistic fiction isn't really my thing.... plus $5.99 is a lot for an E-book.

2. Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare - I've been a fan of Cassandra Clare for a long time but I'm especially nervous about this one. Maybe it's because I'm such a die-hard Will fan and I just have a feeling that Tessa  ends up with Jem... I don't know, but I'm nervous nonetheless.

3. The Evolution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin - As anyone who's been following me for any length of time knows I am OBSESSED with the Mara Dyer series, as in mind-blowingly in love with it, which is why I'm so nervous for this novel to come out. After how the last one ended I need answers and this book will deliver them all, I'm just scared to find out what the answers are!

4. Divergent by Veronica Roth - I've heard so much about this novel that I have super high expectations, making it impossible for this novel to live up to them all. I'm excited to read it but I'm also nervous that it won't be all I think it will be.

5. Chimes at Midnight by Seanan McGuire - Another series that I'm absolutely in love with is the October Dayes series, I've absolutely adored every book so far so there's no reason for me to think I'll dislike this one... but there's always that worry that it won't live up to how wonderful the last one was.

6. Night Broken by Patricia Briggs - I'm always nervous for Mercy Thompson novels, I just love them so much I don't ever want to be disappointed! (Not that I've ever been disappointed by a book by Briggs but still...)

7. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green - I've never read a book by John Green but being a bit of a tumblr addict I've heard a lot about his books. Needless to say I have high expectations, and I know I'm going to cry.

8. Walking Disaster by Jamie McGuire - I'm more excited for this novel than nervous but there's always that little feeling you get when you read the sequel to a book you absolutely adored.

9. Gameboard of the Gods by Richelle Mead - Mead's adult novels never as good as her YA ones, but I'm still hoping for an absolutely amazing adult one.

10. Dearly, Departed by Lia Habel- I have this book in the to-read section of my Kindle but it's been taking me forever to get around to it. I'm not a big fan of zombie novels and this one is not just a zombie novel but a long zombie novel!

Leave a comment telling me your top ten most intimidating books!
