My Review:
Every time I finish one of these novels I feel a bit sad, just because I just don't want them to end! Even though Silver Borne isn't one of my favorites in the series I sill absolutely adore this novel and was glued to the story until I turned the very last page. Strong characters, a thrilling plot, and plenty of supernatural creatures to go around, Silver Borne is another fantastic addition to the Mercy Thompson series!
The relationship between Mercy and Adam takes a prominent role in this novel. The issues between Mercy's independent nature and Adams possessive one finally come to a head and ultimately they work together to solve them. Even though there's less romance in this novel than previous ones the relationship between Mercy and Adam grows stronger as they learn how to work together and as Mercy learns what it really means to be a part of the pack.
Likewise the side plot about Sam finally moves to the front burner. We've always gotten the idea that there's something not quite right about Sam and now we finally find out the true extent of his problems. All the characters underwent major development in this novel and Sam definitely has more in store for him in the future and I'm definitely excited to see where Sam goes now.
While Silver Borne has one of my least favorite plots of the series, just because it's the least climactic, I was still captivated by this novel. Between Adam and Sam, Mercy still has to deal with angry fae, threats on her life, and resisting the powers of a powerful faerie queen. With a sweet ending, as opposed to the usual exciting one, this novel ends on a calmer, but cute, note.
I cannot even reiterate enough how much I absolutely adore this series. If you read one paranormal romance series this year, make sure this one is it!

I love the Mercy Thompson series. This book was actually one of my favorites. As for Sam, a big part of his development comes through the Alpha and Omega series. You might check that out (where he gets to be a main character) if you want to see what happens with him. Good review!
ReplyDeleteThe Alpha and Omega series is on my to be read list, I just need to get around to it. I can't wait to read it, if it's anything like the Mercy Thompson series I know I'll love it! :)
