Top Ten Tuesday: July 9th

This weeks theme for Top Ten Tuesday is the best/worst movie adaptions. Since I don't really watch movies (especially ones based off books) this is going to be a hard one for me... I have a feeling this will be a top 2 or 3 Tuesday instead of the full ten! If you want to take part in Top Ten Tuesday check out The Broke and Bookish.

1. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares - I wasn't a huge fan of the book and I don't remember being a huge fan of the movie either. Both the book and the movie rank pretty similarly to me, but in the end the book is always a little bit better.

2. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins -Like the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants I was never a huge fan of this novel. Even though The Hunger Games was never my favorite book but I thought the movie did a pretty good job despite it all.

3. The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot - Probably my favorite movie based off of a book. I watched the Princess Diaries a million times growing up and to this day I still go back and relive my childhood by watching this movie, and its fantastic every single time.

4. Twilight by Stephenie Meyer - The worst movie adaptation of the bunch, terrible acting and even worse dialogue (and actors, and everything else) this movie has always been awful. The more of these movies I see the worse they seem to get.

Sorry about the short list this week! Leave a comment telling me your favorite and least favorite movie adaptions!

  1. The Princess Diaries! I watched the movie, then read the books, but the movie is by far my favorite. I still have it recorded on my tv and watch it every now and again :)

  2. I read the books too and they just weren't the same as the movie! By far one of the best movie adaptions ever :)

  3. I liked the Princess Diaries books better than the movie(s). The first movie was cute, but the second... nope.
Mia gets to be hapless, lovable, and entertaining for longer in the books,I think.

  4. Agreed, the second movie wasn't nearly as good as the first. I'll always love the movie a little bit more, mostly because I watched it so much as a kid, but the books are good as well!
